“Acquiring insight into the value of Cradle to Cradle certification is an important step in the C2C journey. Hopefully the results will not only encourage new innovations but also boost the actual implementation of these. As a result of the impact study we are more able to apply these Cradle to Cradle products in the built environment.”
Why are the C2C ExpoLAB and the city of Venlo supporting the impact study?
The primary purpose of our supporting the impact study is threefold. Firstly, to share all the knowledge gained at our online Cradle to Cradle knowledge platform, C2C Centre. Secondly, this framework provides a good basis for further research. By linking education with businesses, new innovation and further research will be encouraged. The third reason for supporting the impact study is to put the actual application of Cradle to Cradle certified products into practice.
What is the significance of the Cradle to Cradle impact study?
Showing the credibility of Cradle to Cradle product certification is an important step towards gaining interest from a wider public in both education and the built environment. These results make clear that a circular economy is not only positive for people and planet but also profitable. As consultants in the built environment, we recognize that the demand for Cradle to Cradle-inspired buildings is growing. Hopefully, the impact study will not only encourage new innovations as such but also encourage the practical implementation of these.
Can you explain more about the knowledge platform?
We founded the online knowledge platform C2C-Centre (www.c2c-centre.com) in 2012. We actively gather information on Cradle to Cradle and share that knowledge. This way we aim to encourage and support Cradle to Cradle-inspired developments. Naturally we share the knowledge gained in this study through the online platform.
